Drake's "More Life" Reaches Over A billion U.S. Streams

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Drake’s recent playlist More Life has officially reached more than one billion streams in the U.S. alone. Drizzy’s project maintains its third week in a row at the top of the Billboard 200, although it’s likely he’ll get dethroned by Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., because.

With its third week at #1, the playlist surpasses the one billion mark, according to Nielsen Music, arriving at 1.06 billion streams for the week ending April 6. Joining Drake on the Billboard 200 is Kodak Black, with Painting Pictures debuting quite strong at #3.

It may be less than one month old, but Drake’s More Life has already done something very few albums in history have managed.

Nielsen Music has revealed that the hip-hop star’s latest blockbuster has already racked up just over 1 billion streams. That is quite the accomplishment regardless of when the album (or is it a playlist) was released or where those plays came from in the world, but with this being Drake, of course, his feat is even grander than it first appears.

The 1 billion plays  have all come from within the United States, which means that the record’s total stream count is actually much. In fact, it likely reached that threshold days or perhaps even over a week ago.
