Former Rich Gang rapper Rich Homie Quan unlocks a brand new song titled Replay which is slated to drop next week.

Monday’s VH1 Hip Hop Honors was a huge celebration of the genre’s influential female voices, but Rich Homie Quan walked away from the ceremony with a major L after he forgot the lyrics to The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Get Money” during a Lil Kim tribute. Joey Bada$$ and a slew of Twitter users ragged on the rapper for his gaffe, which took place in New York City no less, and Quan issued an apology, writing on Instagram, “Once on stage I had some technical difficulties and must admit I got nervous. I will forever be sorry to New York, my fans, Biggie Small, Lil Kim, and all the Hip Hop community for my performance.”

But Quan isn’t quite done catching flack, as The Game and Problem spoke to TMZ about the blunder with a bit of disbelief at how it even occurred in the first place. Game starts by smacking his forehead with his palm, giving RHQ a “c’mon man” before saying, “That Biggie verse, that’s our pledge allegiance to the flag. You can’t fuck that up. You know it.” The two West Coast rappers even reference the coastal wars taking place at the time, reciting lyrics to the verse from memory with Game saying, “We not supposed to know that. Atlanta is a little closer to New York than Compton and we know that by heart.”

Problem theorized that “It seemed like he didn’t know he was supposed to do that that day” and agreed with Game that the mistake wasn’t career suicide, saying, “I got business with that man, and he’s a cool dude.”

Time heals all wounds and it seems like Rich Homie is still going to get ragged on for the slip-up but at least Game and Problem are speaking from a place of good natured fun here, having their friend’s back in the end. As for the Twitter hashtags below, the same can’t quite be said.
